Behringer x32 output routing

Ok so I figured out the issue after diving more into the board. I have a brand new x32, most current firmware, X-live card, macbook pro 2017 (big sur) using Logic Pro

To simplify, here is an example chain: Kick drum into beta52>xlr to x32 (channel 1)>direct out post fader tap routed to analog output 1>xlr from analog output 1 to input 17>input 17 preamp out via usb to daw (theres no indication of any signal coming into channel 17, however) I tried the routing the output direct to the card but only got a dry signal. Is there something I need to do in order to make this happen? Is it even really possible? This in theory should give me a processed signal I can record into my daw, but I'm not getting signal, and eventually after turning on the gain I just get feedback, but no idication of the signal coming through. On the latter option, I considered that if I run a channel, post fader direct to an analog output, then via XLR cable, connect back into a new channel and arm that one for recording. In order to work around this, I considered I can either run post fader outputs to a separate interface, or I could try some creative routing. I'm wanting the processing (gate, comp, eq, fx, etc.) on my track before it even hits the DAW. I'm aware that when recording via USB, the X32 does not natively record anything other than signal straight out the preamp.
